Lighting Designer, lives and works in New York City where he creates illumination designs for theater, live music performances, television, video, fashion and a variety of corporate events. He has been the technical director for theater productions in Brazil, Mexico, and Peru. He was the lighting director for “Stage Fest”, a Latino theater festival in New York in 2009, 2010 and 2011. Among his extensive credits, he has worked with known artists such as, Bob Dylan, Alicia Keys, Manu Chau, Kanye West and with Television networks like Univision, PBS, MTV and FOX.
Miguel’s theater credits include: They Call Me La Lupe, Looking Glass Rewondered, Cuban Operator please, Hunting the Reinosos, Oh! Yantai, I Want You by My Side, The Foolish Disciple, Lemay, Nesting, Work in progress, Taking a chance in America, Once on this Island, Paso Del Norte, Pawn Shop Accordions, Ephigenia at Aulis, and the Trilogy of Juan Rulfo, which was awarded best production at the Hispanic Theater Festival in 2011, sponsored by the Dominican Commission on Culture in New York. Among his most recent work, he formed part of the creative team for ID STUDIO THEATER with the premiere of Un País de Bicicleta by Nilo Cruz and Cruce Sobre el Niágara by Alonso Alegría, at the XIII Iberoamerican Theater Festival Bogotá, Colombia, in April 2012. Miguel anticipates a Bachelors degree in Entertainment Technology from New York City College of Technology in the summer of 2012, where he is currently a student.
